Who's going to be first to submit their scores this round?  :D

I am struggling with the weather here, at the moment. It's done nothing but rain for the past two months now, and it is becoming a bit depressing.

Kind regards,

I doubt I'll be the first be I'll definitely participate.

Just got an MTM rifle front rest which is much more successful than the storage box plus jumbo car sponge I'd been messing about with.

This is the rest I have, and I find it very versatile.

If you don't want to make use of the "lower" rest you can turn the whole thing around, which gives a bit more room under the pistol grip.

I have also used it for benchrest rifle.

Kind regards,

The lower rest on mine can be removed completely - which is usually how I use it, I find it useful when setting my sights though

Shot mine this afternoon.

I had intended just shooting the round, but my shots were all over the place. As I was checking my sights I noticed that the front sight was completely loose.

Sighting the gun back in, I managed to put 3 shots nearly through the same hole.

Kind regards,

I've been using a similar pistol rest, which I've borrowed from my club. The cradle is of hard rubber which seems to enhance the recoil of my springer. Nyctophiliac suggested using a car-wash sponge as a damper, and I used a similar method (builder's sponge) between cradle and pistol. It worked well for me.

I am currently using a folded duster, which works well.

It's surprising how much recoil there actually is with the Giss system.

Not normally noticeable, bug amplified by the rest.

Believe it or not I have some wood to make a rest for myself now that I have a bit of spare time. Going to start after the weekend and get some practice before competition day.

You'll have to post some pics, sounds like a good solution for others to consider.

I worried, at first, that I may have made the targets too big, but it's surprising how tiny tge black is when viewed in relation to the front sight blade.

My woodworking skills will probably illustrate how not to do it but if it turns out half decent I will certainly post it up to offer some alternatives for others. That is a very big if though!!!

I am sure you will do an excellent job.

On a bit of a tip,  Dunhelm do some cheap foam rubber in varying sizes.

11 days to go, and only 1 entry received so far.

It's not that cold out there, honest!  :D
