Would be good to see you back.

Webleys have returned some very respectable scores, and are well within the spirit of the competition.

It's always good to see them being put to good effect.

Kind regards,

When first I practised for this comp, I thought my old Webley Hurricane would be great for the benchrest, but I found that once rested, it shot a variable amount high of the target - about a foot or so, fairly inconsistantly too. In fact this resulted in my very first hole in the backing wall I shoot against.

I think this wildness is due to the reverse piston? I have no other pistol of a similar nature to test, my Senior being at my Mum's house ATM.

But if you can find a good way of using it in this comp, then it is a fantastic pistol and I salute your ability.

(I did try aiming a foot low to compensate, which resulted in my second ever hole in the backing wall I shoot against!!)

Your input had been greatly missed.

We shall have to see if we can get a few more entries for the next round.

Kind regards,

You know, I might just have a go myself. I have read that Benchrest is very popular in Germany, would anyone know if this is so?
graham.
I’m going off to go find myself. If I’m not back by the time I return, keep me here.

I had a practice plink yesterday for the benchrest, i think i'll get away with Daisy its heavy trigger is not so much of a problem when bench
rested i did have a quick plink with the Jumbo too, but it jumped around like a fairy on a ping pong ball so its the daisy, M. :brilsmurf:

Ha! That's just what my Webley did too! Just didn't seem destined for benchrest shooting! At least with the Scorpion I can rest it and let the recoil take care of itself.

I dont think that using my Webley is going to be viable as I really dont want to adjust the sights just to suit bench rest.

My other current pistols are mutli shot and hence not permitted - however, all is not lost as I have just done a deal in relation to a Weihrauch HW75 which will be ideal for this! :)

HW75 should be the perfect gun for this.

Just shot my final round. Scores inbound!

Not my worst round either.

Now I can put my BSA Scorpion to bed for a bit while I concentrate on my .177 guns for the MPL.
