You need to join in - no better place for a Classic air pistol owner to use his toys!

This is THE place for Classic air pistols - the rules were written specifically to encourage their use.

No PCP or CO2 pistols allowed in this series!

There should be no reason why a few CAPA members can't join forces and enter.

I am sure Bob could come up with an acceptable way of having the scores checked for submission.

Kind regards,

Phil

Good idea!

Get a team together and enter as a postal team.

Teams of ten can be made up with A.N.Other shooters who can be replaced with real shooters as you find a way to bludgen others to join and get the numbers up to ten or more!

Go for it!

The first round of the second series starts in the last week of January 2013.

Come on chaps, anybody interested?

I shoot for Rossendale, so couldn't enter twice.

Kind regards,

Same here. I can only just get a comfortable 6yds in my cellar - unless I start knocking walls down.

If somebody were to run 6 yd postal/email version of the MPL I'd be in!

When I started we shot into my single car garage and had to stand outside to get the length.

We often got cold and wet - but we were determined!

I wonder if this could be scaled to 6 yards with a penalty,  if necessary, for the shorter distance entry?

Just a thought.

Kind regards,

It would possible to use the UBC 6 yd targets as these are basically scaled down 10M targets.

Interestingly, comparing the scores for the MPL and the UBC comp shows that the 6 yd scores are significantly higher. This would seem to indicate that shooting the smaller targets at a shorter range is significantly easier.

I am not at all sure that we could find a way to do this, but if we did, then it would need to be based on the NSRA 6 Yard Air Pistol target "AIR 8" as this is universally available to everyone.

This target should give the same image at 6yards as the NSRA ( and similar approved) 10 metre target that is ued in the MPL.

Maybe we could make a 6 yard postal version of the MPL based on the above specified target?

I think an alternative 6 yard postal category is a better idea than making a further rule variation of the existing 10m comp.

It could also be an individual comp without the need to form a team.

Kind regards,

Phil

I agree. Individual entry would pull in more people.

But there is no reason why it couldn't be both. A fairly simple spreadsheet could group the results as individuals and as teams.
