Benchrest season 2.

Looking forward to the season 2 results next month to see what pistols have been used I reckon Ian wants a medal where ever he comes for bravery, shooting the Walther, not an easy beast to master. I bottled out with the Jumbo ok freehand, but a real struggle bench rested, I see we have 5 entries so far it would be nice if a few more could find the time to have a go, though its not as easy as it sounds, M. :)

Considering the number of members, it's probably not a bad turn out.

Still, a few more would be nice.

I shot Bob's Webley Tempest on Thursday night and, for the first time, notice a forwards and clockwise rotational recoil.

My Tempest is .22, and can't say I've noticed recoil to this extent.

Some guns are certainly better suited to benchrest than others.

Kind regards,

Phil

Wet day, so I spent some time cleaning my pistols & doing a little practice trying to decide what pistol to shoot next in the benchrest comp, still not brave enough to use the Jumbo so will probably go for one of the 6M's next, hopefully one or two more may time to have a go this month as most the holiday season is over now, M. :)

Now that I am able to get some shooting done again, I definitely want to submit a score in the near future. I am very glad to see the comp still running. :)

Looking forward to seeing you, you can always jump in for the last couple of rounds to get some practice in.

My Model 10 is giving mixed results, but it's a good excuse to use it.

I shall have to vary my technique.

Kind regards,

Phil

Reading this thread reminds me of my Record Jumbo luxe, I keep trying it for benchrest, but its a no go so far, shoots fine freehand, but like a shotgun benchrested. M. :)

I think i'll try a springer again this month  , most of my pistols are recoiless , but I have two springers, and will use one of them this time
to see how crappy I am with them, M. :)

I did better with the Original Model 10 this month, but the lower the target the more it shots high; must be a positional thing.

Kind regards,

Phil
