Hubertus Air Pistol

Hello,

'Here are a few pictures of my 'small frame' Hubertus air pistol which took some time to source compared with its big (large frame) brother.

The 'small frame' Hubertus is of German manufacture with only 1,700 or so being made between 1925 -1927 before it was replaced by the much more common 'large frame' variant produced between 1927 -1938.

Cocking and loading this pistol seems extremely complicated, but once you get into the swing isn't all that difficult.

Firstly, the barrel is pushed in against a hard surface ( Gat style) before the cylinder shroud is moved back and the barrel broken allowing the breech to be exposed to seat the pellet, Next, the barrel is closed and the cylinder shroud returned to its forward position. Finally, the barrel is pulled back out to its original position and the pistol is ready to fire.

That's all there is to it !

As I say, it sounds much more complicated in words than it is in practise.
