Is this a milled cut for a shoulder stock on a Haenel 28R?

This is milled into backstrap, just seems like a shoulderstock attaching point to me, but never heard or seen one?

I would be more inclined to think that it is a clearance cut for the magazine knob.

You are absolutely correct. When you cock the gun it needs that cut out to clear the end. My bad.
