New one in makes it a pair of Haenel 28-Rs!

Postby 45flint » Sat Feb 18, 2017 6:38 pm

Just scored my second Haenel 28 in the last six months! My first was a .177 is just great shape. This one was a .22 and with some rust, but all the parts were there. Got it on a gun auction site where a dealer had listed it for a set price, which was at book for the condition. Got it today and I was very surprised how well the rust cleaned up. Fires fine. This one has a 3000+ serial number so it's one of the last ones made. Irony I seem to score the rarer repeater and can't find a regular 28 in good condition. Most are so beat up. Here is pic of the pair, the 22 on top.

Hi,

A very nice trio of iconic German pistols.

When I started collecting classic air pistols I had intended to move duplicate examples on when something better came along. Somehow, I just couldn't bear to part with them and now have quite a few such pistols which at least get used more than those in better condition.

I also have a few German pistols including a Haenal 28, Hubertus and Tell 3, but mainly concentrate on British, all steel spring powered pistols of similar quality.

Regards

Brian

It is really genius using a concentric tube as a magazine. Totally contained, rather than hanging a tube on the side. And the precision machining to accomplish this is amazing to me. And the pistol is incredibly robust, after all these years they just keep on ticking. I go out to my backyard and I have 20 shoots self contained. Just cock and shoot, where else do you find that even in a modern pistol and this was 1928?
