Giss original models

Post by Joe » Mon Feb 04, 2013 11:55 am

Seen a lot of chat about the originals with giss but when I see them advertised not sure which models have giss and which dont

Can somebody point me in the right direction as to where I can find more info on the range and advise on price

and would not like to start an arguement but which model is favourite

The model 6 and 10's have the GISS system Joe. If you look the the top tube  just in front of the rear sight you will see a round button type structure sticking out - this is part of the GISS mechanism. If it doesnt have this it is a recoiling model

The spring target rifles have it too - models 60/65/75 etc

Wouldnt mind one of these myself....

I have a Model 5, which is identical to Ian's first Model 6 picture, but not a GISS, so always look for the button.

Basically, you have two pistons, one travelling in each direction, but one being a dummy.

This is how it counters the recoil.

Kind regards,

well after a lot of searching I have done just that and here it is

just involved a trip to Manchester to make sure it was as described

[Image

This one was resealed and serviced a couple of weeks ago by Dave Mercer and a quick check over the chrono was showing 420-430 fps but its still dieseling at the moment

It even makes a rubbish shot like me look like half good

Image

that was 15 shots. I should have given up after 10 because 2 of the wide one were in the last 5 when my hand started to shake with the pressure of trying to keep them in the black

Just need to tweak the sights now when I get time

Very good indeed.

You fps is about right, and any dieseling will stop after a tin of so.

Trigger is hard to adjust, being one adjuster inside another.

This is the perfect pistol for the MPL.

We do allow catch up to take into consideration late joiners, holidays, etc.

A Round can be done in under 20 mins, so it doesn't take too long really.

Nice looking 6M you've got their, and that's good shooting for a new pistol, and I to sometimes don't know when to stop and get punished with dodgy flier's when my arm/shoulder is tired good luck enjoy it, M. :)

Good to have you aboard.

It is a good experience to shoot a competition with "official targets", and is surprising how much your scores drop from a practice target to an official one!
