They are very accurate, & i liked the trigger, but i struggled with the grips & the over military appearance, however if one came along @ the right price i might give it another go. Just come back from my rfd they sell them for £275 ouch, most others  £215 new. M. :?  :)

I'm still in buying mode, but found nothing that i fancy although some @ silly prices on gun* of course. In the meantime one of my compacts has died & been sent off today to "Mr Seals" Laurie to be fixed. M. :?  :)

Crosman 2240s can be picked up for the £75 mark.

Sites such as gmac give you lots of customisation options, including conversion to  .177

Kind regards,

I am not a fan of yellow gold and, therefore, bass and other such finishes.

Stainless, etc, are much better finishes, though I do prefer satin rather than shiny.

Still looking for a nice ssp pistol not much happening @ the moment about time the manufacturers bought some more out my local rfd's don't help, one aint got any, one has the Alecto, but @ £275 thats £60 more than most rfd's, and oh and he only sells .22 airguns cos their's quote no demand for .177 airguns    :? . atb, M.

Sounds like a shop to avoided.

FAS 604s always hold their value and have a very good trigger.

A chap at the club recently picked up a Pardini K58. Not seen one in the flesh before, but a very smart looking gun.

Reminds me, in some ways, of a smaller more compact version of the Feinwerkbau 103

Kind regards,

That's kinda counter intuitive isn't it?

Maybe there's not as many paper punchers out there as we would think.

I've never seen an Alecto in anything but .177 in fact.

Despite my searching for a Daisy 777 powerline, I suspect my next pistol might well be one of the Wobbleys.

Months away though.

Re-Sales.

Post by zunmik » Mon Apr 01, 2013 2:00 pm

Something i've come across whilst looking for guns is the requirement for payment by bank transfer which in the last two weeks as put me off buying a pistol & a rifle i don't do online banking (not happy with security) to many horror stories for my likeing. Its a bit of a trek to my bank, i will do pay pal up to £150 over that by cheque, but this does not suit some so i keep my cash & they lose a sale? M. :?  :)

Bank transfer is probably the most secure method and much faster than waiting for a cheque to clear.
If you don't want to do it from your home computer, you can go into your local branch, ( probably any branch of your bank) & do the transaction via a debit card.

OR - what I have done in the past when working away and without my banking passwords with me is get the sellers bank details and walk into a local branch of their bank and just pay cash or a cheque into their account, keeping the paying in receipt.
Online banking is perfectly safe and I can assure you if anything goes wrong the banks are quick to put it right. Unless you voluantarily send all of your money to a bank in Nigeria, then you would be on your own! Most of the horror stories, if you get the full facts, are usually the fault of the incompetent customer.
I myself transferred some cash to Ian on here and cocked it up (doing half a dozen transfers at once   ) but the bank had it back to normal within a couple of days. Too many people getting column inches in the Daily Wail!

I’m going off to go find myself. If I’m not back by the time I return, keep me here.

If you get it wrong, the bank usually corrects it quite quickly.

Anybody suddenly finding an unknown payment into their account should notify the bank as quickly as possible, as they could get charged with theft if they "touch" it.

A friend of a friend suddenly found a large sum deposited. To try and teach the bank a lesson, he drew it out, then went into the branch to have stern words, handing the money over at the same time.

I believe he was actually charged with theft in the end as he withdrew money he knew wasn't his.

I have used bank transfer many times with no bad deals. That said, I still do my research by getting a landline number, speaking with them, getting their address checked, etc.

Kind regards,

Ahh, yes of course. I am assuming that the person to whom you are transferring the money is known to you or at least has a comprehensive set of contact details - that work!

I t would seem many of you favour bank transfer, however i do not & will continue to offer cheque payments till cheque books are done away with as i am content to wait a few days for my purchase, (each to their own) atb, M.

Well since i wrote that i have bought some guns as a matter of fact i may thin 1 or 2 out once i get the FWB80 as i have to many to shoot regularly. as i'm not a collector. A mate has had a target pistol off me this week, and i may sell one of my compacts as it does seem a bit silly to have 3 of them, but i have noticed sales on guns is a bit slow of late so i will probally have to do it at a good price to get some interest, M. :?  :)
