The FAS 6004 - no, not a spelling mistake

Post by Tank » Tue Nov 05, 2013 8:01 pm

I have it on extremely good authority that this new offering from FAS will shortly be available at an authorised dealer near some of us very soon.
Gentlemen, the FAS 6004 (I like the name, lets face it, why mess with a winning formula).

Looks like one to watch out for, though I expect it'll have a £600 or so price tag.

Not sure how they come up with their numbering though.

Kind regards,

Very interesting Graham and that looks like an ambi-grip as well, not seen one of those on a 604.
You're obviously moving in the right circles ;-)

What next a FAS 007 which might be an LP53 lookalike? :D

Chiappa, the Italian manufacturer, has apparently obtained the rights to build the FAS604 ssp and FAS602 22lr. The new 604 will be the 6004. Afaik, they will be distributing them in the US and elsewhere. Good news to see a revival of these superb pistols.

Yes it is good news they will be available still, I hope over here to as well as in the US. The 6004 must be the sporting model I saw a hint of on a US site a little while ago, time will tell as always. (blimey a non wobbly thread  ) M.

Just to update this thread, Blackpool Air Rifles are listing this as "available soon". Price with an ambi grip is £339 and £389 with an anatomical grip.

I must admit the FAS 6004 looks really nice, I to have seen it on the BAR website and it is £389 for the target grip spec. I am tempted but I will wait to see what the reviews are like.

Interesting news.
I like the name.
Not over keen on the FAS logo though.
Though I note the logo in the pics is different from those shown in the video.

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post the FAS 6004 links which should prove very interesting to anybody thinking about investing in one of these pistols.

Iv'e used my FAS 604 regularly for the last 20 years and could not recommend a better single stroke pneumatic pistol for competitive target shooting at club level anyway.

Regards

Brian

Hi,

That sounds like very good value, as I remember the FAS 604 was still on sale at the Bisley NSRA shop for around the £600 mark only a year or so ago.

It's not great value if the BAR price is correct. £60 difference seems a bit much.

I didn't realise that the 604 sold for £600. It remains to be seen if machine built 6004 turns out to be as well put together as hand made 604.

I'll definitely be having a trip down to Blackpool to decide if I need one in my cabinet.

Thanks for pointing out that price, BAR didn't come up in my quick search. If the 6004 is up to the same standard of manufacture and handling as the 604 then that's a very good entry level price, with nothing really to touch it.

It will be interesting to see if the new spares are compatible with the 604.
