Phil i forgot to say the "izzie" as std comes with a normal front dioptre that you can use any element you wish in it, but it does not fit onto std rails instead they use a cast metal design that goes round the barrel, and locates by means of a screw that locates into the barrel to ensure correct alignment, atb, M.zunmik:2030 wrote:Thats exactly what i've got the "izzie" & the walther foresight dioptre's both have a range of elements so that you can choose the best one to suit the size, distance & your taste, just std as all dioptre's you just unscrew the cap use the size you require, i also have both metal & synthetic elements all are of course the round "hole" type i did'nt know there were other types other than the round hole ones, no point in having old style post elements in a dioptre!, atb, M.pmh:2029 wrote:Are you fitting a foresight from another gun then?
I know the best reticules for Bell Target are the round "hole" type, with the hole just being slightly bigger than that of the target.

That's interesting, the ones I have seen pictures of have a sight a bit like the BSAs/Webleys, i.e. a fixed blade with a tunnel shroud.
Some UBC members have been asking how to change these over.

I think thats the latest versions they also have a plastic receiver (yuk) mines all metal except for the stock in ideal world i would have had the even earlier version the (IZH60) the single shot one rather than the magazine 61 that i have, but their pretty rare, M.pmh:2032 wrote:That's interesting, the ones I have seen pictures of have a sight a bit like the BSAs/Webleys, i.e. a fixed blade with a tunnel shroud.

"izzie" foresight diopter
Phil as promised pics of foresight (not best main camera flat battery) as you see it goes over & round the barrel. To get to the screw that locates on the barrel you undo the end cap as if changing sight elements then it is exposed, M. (4 pics)

Very helpful pics.
It's a pity they don't fit the same sight to the later versions.
Perhaps somebody has come up with a workable fix already.

Interesting. Just checked that out for myself.
Here are the threads which sparked the initial debate:-

Not sure why this one has a different foresight, unless it is an earlier model?
Kind regards,
Phil

I'm shocked dreadfull fore sight, but mostly the trigger 100% different mine is three way adjustable, release point, pull weight & has a target trigger can be moved up/down & left or right movement. Also there is so much plastic on the new ones, M.pmh:2060 wrote:Interesting. Just checked that out for myself.

Plenty of shops are advertising your version, including York Guns, where the one in question was bought from.
I suppose the rule is to check the front sight before purchase.

Just checked the Baikal website, >link<, and it looks like the none reticule foresight is the current one.
Seems a bit of a backward step reaaly, and probably a cost saving exercise.

Hell of a shame the original version is such a great rifle, better than me with it, M.pmh:2071 wrote:Just checked the Baikal website, >link<, and it looks like the none reticule foresight is the current one.

I spent some time this weekend researching the "izzie", and one website (being a numpty i can't remember which one ) showed that on the new type rifle the front part of the "new" type sight can be removed & replaced with others, 2 posts sights, and 3 ring diopter type sights!. the sight has a large ring which fits over the barrel then it continuespmh:2071 wrote:Just checked the Baikal website, >link<, and it looks like the none reticule foresight is the current one.

up to the ring or post sight. the picture showed that the end of the barrel was threaded so that the front part can be removed to replace these unusual, but effective looking foresight elements. possibly a cap @ the end unscrews to allow this, could'nt tell from the drawing not detailed enough. M. :? :)
