Walther LGR

Post by pmh » Sun Mar 03, 2013 11:50 am

Flicking through the forums last night, minding my own business, I stumbled across a Walther LGR for sale; posted not long before I came across it, and for what looked like a bargain price too.

Anyway, I thought about it for a full 30 seconds and it's mine now, and hopefully it'll be arriving mid week, so I'll get to try it on the bell targets soon.

I know I haven't shot this particular rifle yet, but I do quite well with the Feinwerkbau 300s, and various Originals, so I should take to this quite well.

Kind regards,

Phil

It was on the Airgun BBS.

I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, so it must have meant to be.

It looks very tasty, do i feel a rifle comp coming on!!, not heard from Ian lately his rifle looks fabulous & i am a co2 fan look forward to hearing how he's getting on with his, & then how you do, if you want diopter sights solware have front & rear for about £50. Has the pistol comp died you seem to be struggling to get enough scores in, M. :?

A rifle comp sound an excellent idea, perhaps eccentric base it around the printed bell target targets I put together?

Or if anybody else has another suggestion, please feel free to say so.

Ian is struggling with a few issues at the moment as, it would appear from the forums, are many others.

It seems a bad start to the year for many.

I know some have shot round 3, but haven't submitted scores yet.

The number of people currently logged on seems to be considerably down on all the forums I go on.

Not sure what sights the gun will come with, I was thinking front but no rear.

I have seen a rear on ebay, but will check out Solware, thanks for the pointer there.

Kind regards,

Phil

I'd love to shoot a rifle comp but struggle with rifle now due to blurring of vision in my right eye just where the sights are so to speak. That's why I packed in rifles and shoot pistol with both eyes open.
Also struggling with the clay shooting due to this eye problem, well, that's my excuse....could be I'm just a cr@p shot!!!...lol!!

I saw that Phil and it must have been about the same time - If I had any spare cash we could have fought over it!
Anyhow, I spent a very theraputic afternoon in the garden oiling the  - now smooth as silk - stock from my 300S. I am especially pleased with the new rosewood grip cap I made. I'll let you have a go of mine if I can have a go at yours!

Once it arrives, I'll have to measure up for a case, and get the sights sorted out.

Hopefully, it won't before long before I am up and running.

Kind regards,

Phil

It arrived this morning, and very impressive it is too.

I just need to get a case and some signs sorted out for it.

Will post pictures when I get a moment.

What? Like pointy end> <blunt end or Front>  <Rear  ?

How very odd!

My oriental spill chucker strikes again!

Signs = sights.

I should pay more attention before I press submit!

Stick to Signs Phil, we have already agreed sights are a dear do. Even second hand people want a real premium for "vintage".  In one instance recently I calculated it would have almost doubled the worth of a recent rifle sale by taking the front and rear sight set off and selling them seperately!

Just got a set (Air Arms) off ebay for £43 delivered.

Not got any at all at moment, so they'll do for now.
