Hello,
Here are some pictures of another vintage Aperture sight that would be suitable for fitting to a BSA Improved Mod D or similar air rifle. The preferred sight would be the BSA No 8 but this sight is smaller and would possibly look a bit neater. The sight was made by the "London Small Arms Co" (LSA) around 1910 and would have been intended for use with a smallbore target rifle. Interestingly, windage adjustment was achieved by turning the eyepiece clockwise or anti-clockwise rather than the more sophisticated arrangement used on the BSA No 8. This type of sight doesn't look out of place on older air rifles and certainly represents a big improvement on standard open sights as age takes it's toll.
Regards
Brian
Another "Peep" Sight for the BSA Mod D
Re: Another "Peep" Sight for the BSA Mod D
I find the add ons, and accessories, just as interesting as the guns themselves.
It's also important to keep such items for those who may need them in the future. If we don't, they will simply be lost forever.
Keep up the interesting and valuable posts.
Kind regards,
Phil
