I'm not offering advice I'm requesting it.

Has anybody used this product: Ballistol Klever Quick Browning? There are some demo's on You Tube and it looks to be really good stuff. Before I spend some of my hard earned pension I'd some opinions please.

I've only ever used Philips Gun Blue Cream, which doesn't seem to last that long.

The other one that often gets a good write up is G96 gun blue.

It's very good stuff indeed.
The only other one I use is Birchwood Casey gun blue cream - seems to work better than their liquids

I refinished three actions using the Klever blue (Brunniruing mean blueing rather than brown apparently )

At first they looked better than any of the gels that i'd used but after a few months the finish seemed to fade

I have heard that cold blueing does fade with time.

I have also heard that cold bluing fades. I have only used cold bluing for touch ups and I like to leave a very thin coat of oil over the bluing. My theory is that oil form a moisture barrier between the bluing and atmosphere and helps maintain the bluing. I only gently wipe my barrels with a soft cloth and occasionally apply some oil. I have found vigorous wiping can thin the cold blue. Anyway it's what I do and it seems work for me, I suppose that some replies will be contrary to what I do but I'm going stick with what works for me.
