Crosman 600 power

Post by jassi » Sun Jun 01, 2014 3:56 pm

It being a nice day, I've been giving my 600 an outing, shooting at 10 and 15 yards, as opposed to me usual 6.

It seemed a bit lacking at that range, so I thought I would see if I could increase the hammer tension.
I found another spring - similar size, but rather more powerful and duly fitted. Certainly increased the power, but proved a bit difficult to cock manually, so decided it was probably too strong.

Settled on increasing the tension of the original spring with a spacer and found that a plumber's 15mm olive fitted and did the job exactly.

Power has increased noticeably without the trigger being unduly heavy.

Now for some extensive field trials

Sounds like a very good tweak.

Many "tunes" for the ROHM consist of an increased power spring on the hammer, making it difficult to cock and, in some cases, causing damage.

Looks like you speed this early and come up with a compromise.

Kind regards,
