Hello,

Thought I would post some details about the club I regularly shoot at in Chichester, West Sussex, in case anybody is looking for a club based in the sunny south.

We have both indoor and outdoor ranges conveniently situated and well maintained by an enthusiastic membership. The outdoor range nestles in the south downs near the village of Lavant and forms part of the Goodwood Estate.

This range caters for Muzzle Loading Pistol /Revolver, Fullbore & Smallbore Sporting Rifle, Muzzle Loading Long Arms etc at 25 & 50 yds. Air Weapons are also welcome and we can even shoot downloaded .303 Service Rifle.

Our indoor range is only 5yrs old and could be described as "state of the art" with excellent heating, lighting and ventilation. This range is shared with the Chichester Rifle & Pistol Club and is conveniently sited alongside the Festival Theatre in Chichester. The indoor range can be used for .22 Rimfire Sporting Rifle or any airgun related disciplines at 10 metres, 20 & 25 yds. We also have a portable Running Boar" facility for use with .177 air rifles and some purpose built benchrest tables.

More information can be found here:

Would be interested myself but unfortunately the club is limited from my viewpoint, as it only caters for some airgun disciplines, not Co2 pistol or rifle. I therefore belong to the Ford Airgun Club which caters for all the air and Co2 disciplines as well as .22 rim fire. It’s a shame really as Chichester would be a shorter journey for me; however your club sounds a nice place to shoot.

Hi Steve,

It depends on what you mean by "Co2 pistol or rifle". True we don't shoot formal "Practical Pistol" or "Field Target" disciplines but Co2 pistols and rifles are used and even some "Soft Air" aficionados use the range. We also sometimes shoot "Police Pistol" using Umarex Co2 pistols and on a scaled down PP1 target. In short, any air weapon can be used but not all in specifically organised disciplines.

Hi Steve,

We do have the odd open day when non-shooters can come along and have a go under supervision.

However, if you just want to come along and have a look at what we do you can would be welcome to just turn up on any Tuesday or Sunday evening after 7pm or if you prefer I can find out when the next official open evening is and get back to you.

Regards

Brian
