I didn’t manage to purchase that Webley MK1 air pistol I was after, I didn’t know it at the time but I was beaten to getting it by my son, who give it to me yesterday as one of my birthday presents, it certainly beats the usual socks & tee shirts by a mile.
The serial number is 4243.
The pistol requires striping, inspecting, cleaning and lubrication at a guess it will need a new piston washer, it has a couple of obvious defects, the link between the barrel and cocking shoe has one rivet missing which has been replaced by a split pin which you can see in the right hand side view of the pistol, and the screw that acts as a locking/indexing screw for the rear plug used to strip and maintain the pistol is missing.
Just a straight grip senior air pistol to get I then have a set of each model of air pistol that Webley and Scott produced pre war, but not a set of each series within each model produced.
Photographs of the pistol here.

I hope it wasn't an auction and you were bidding against each other!
