Age of my Webley Mk1

A place to discuss all things Webley. As this is probably the most collected airgun maker we felt it deserved a section of its own.

Age of my Webley Mk1

Post by tagnut69 » Wed Dec 19, 2012 10:28 am

Hi I have just assembled a Mk1 pistol from a box of bit I was given, fitted new seals and away we go.  The serial number is 7625, .177.  I think I have read that the Mk1 was first made in 1924 and by 1926 they were up to number 19,000, is this correct.

I have to say I am quite impredded with it so far, it is supprisingly accurate at 7 paces.  I was getting sub 1'' groups with some RWS pointy pellets ( only pellets I had in the shed).

The wife now fears that this may become addictive as I have asked for a Mk1 .22 for crimbo.

Cheers

Chris

Wish somebody would give me a box of bits.

Glad you got it together and working, and that too many parts weren't missing.

I need to get my tempest out and have a few months re goes.

Not sure about the dates, I am sure somebody will be along with more idea than me.

Kind regards,
