Webley Tempsest
Courtesy of CIVIC, I recently picked this up:-
Very good condition for the money.
Not had chance to shoot it yet though.
Made in Birmingham, and the proper 5.6mm .22, it is my first proper .22 pistol, and first ever Webley.
I doubt I'll shoot it much, but it's a nice pistol to own.
Kind regards,
Phil

I never gave it a wipe over brfore I took the picture.
It is a lot shinier than it actually looks, and the "patina" is in keeping with it's age.
Thanks for pointing out it's a Mk1, I'll update my list as I didn't know this.
I'll also check out John Knibbs.
Kind regards,
Phil

Thanks for that, quite competitive rates.
Some companies start at a flat rate, like £5.99
Kind regards,

Had my first go this afternoon.
Was quite surprised for many reasons:-
1 - I thought it would be really difficult to cock, but it was quite comfortable, with no feeling of strain.
2 - I thought there would be a horrible forward recoil, a bit like that from a HW45, but it wasn't really noticeable.
The sights needed adjusting, but I was getting 1" groups at around 4.5m.
Quite an enjoyable experience. I was using Superdomes, which were a bit loose in the breach.
I do fancy a Typhoon though, and will look out for a good condition one, right price of course. Think I would stick with .177 though, as it may get use in comps.

Its virtually the same with my Hurricane. It needed a dab of moly on the cocking lever/barrel linkage fulcrum.... really nice and sweet after that.
The recoil definately seems different to a HW45... quite muffled. Mine is rated at 5.56 cal, but pellets seem very tight and their skirts can distort on closing the barrel. Found smaller pellets much better, and does not seem to affect accuracy.
Which Typhooon were you looking for? The older (Hurricane lookalike) or the more modern break-barrel?
Not tried either of them myself, but I've read posts that were critical of both. I think that with the older model, people were expecting a Premier-type shape and steel content. The newer break-barrel seems to have a trigger which is very heavy. but,as I say,.....I've not handled either of them.

I have the Hatsan Model 25, which is virtually the same as the new Hurricane.
Not a bad pistol all round.
Not sure why they reuse names, it can be confusing.
The older Hurricane would be nice, but would have to be in the future.
Kind regards,
Phil

Not too sure regarding Webleys so, hopefully, somebody else will be along to advise.
My first reaction was that it would have been a good price had it been boxed.
Unboxed £110 sounds more comfortable.
Kind regards,
Phil

Some outlets are still selling "last of the stock" boxed Tempests for Around £145 ish. so, I think £160 may be too much. However, you do see Tempests for hopeful similar prices on G**star........ You also see excellent condition examples on G**star etc for less than half that!

Tempest foresight shroud
Just a passing comment, the Tempest never had a foresight shroud, only the Hurricane and the Typhoon have them.
Always ready to buy another Webley pistol and another and . . . .
