bargain Tempest?

A place to discuss all things Webley. As this is probably the most collected airgun maker we felt it deserved a section of its own.

Thought I would take it for £50 - cant go wrong, if it is a scrapper then I will break it for parts, but going to try and bling it up when it arrives - it doesnt look to bad in the photo

Not bad at all for £50.

If it shoots well it will hold it's value.

Kind regards,

Does anybody know the difference between the .177 and .22 versions?

Is it just a different barrel, or do they have different transfer port hole sizes, etc?

Kind regards,

Phil

Just the Barrel, I have swopped .22 Barells for .177 on these pistols before, easy to do as all other fittings are the same.

I will post some updated photo's once  all the bling bits arrive & are fitted to the pistol

Quite dear really, in comparison to hoe much the gun was.

Protek want £60 for one, but are stating RFD delivery only too.

Bling bits for the Tempest arrived this morning

New forend from John Knibbs
New wooden grips from bladders
trigger shoe from E-bay

coating of gun oil over pistol to remove small scrapes and inperfections and a squirt of oil in mainspring. I was going to compleley strip the pistol but it it was shooting fine so left it well alone.

It has turned out a lot better than I had expected

Thought you said new pants at first!  :D

The grips certainly do make a difference, and a trigger shoe csn certainly enhance the feel of a trigger.

I prefer silver in colour to gold though, always have.

Looking good so far, but don't think there is much more you can do to it.

Kind regards,

yes agree silver would have been better but couldn't find a silver trigger shoe anywhere to fit the Tempest

I do believe they are quite hard to come by, but will change it if I ever find one

:D

Greame, that Tempest sure looks the biz. Any chance you could send me a link to the place where you secured the wooden grips from (Bladders)?
