cold fingers

O.k. I'll relieve the boredom with a question.
Where is the ideal point of balance in a pistol used in target shooting and how does one (A) locate it ? and (B)Resolve any imbalance found.

There's no ideal balance point really, it's personal preference.  To shift it forwards you add weight to the front of the gun or move weight forward... And vice versa. Many match pistols have a system of barrel weights that can be adjusted for position.  Failing that you can use anything appropriate. For example some have stuck lead wheel balance weights inside the frame of a Gamo Compact.

My ROHM centre of balance is just in front of the trigger, and I find this just about right.

I do like the bulk of the weight in the grip.

Kind regards,

I dislike muzzle heavy balance - a bit like Phil I prefer the weight further back. Probably why I like CO2 pistols such as the Tau7 and classic Crosmans so much

I managed to source some wheel balance weights today and temporarily fitted in various amounts till I was comfortable with pistols grouping on target. Seems I am better with muzzle heavy format too.

Model flying accessories suppliers have small sticky backed weights, about 1cm x 1cm usually, which would be ok for small tweaks.
