On the Wants List for 2013

Post by pmh » Sun Dec 30, 2012 9:46 pm

Has anybody made a wants list or the coming year?

My main want is a good match pistol.

The Steyr LP2 is currently top of my list.

I am also keeping an eye out for pistols that interest me, probably some Records, or other similar break barrels.

I also need a good .177 CO2 target pistol. A Drulov Lov 21 would be ideal, but quite rare. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Kind regards,

Phil

My wish list is getting out of control!!
I would like a day to day springer for the club, maybe a Cometa. A Gamo Centre with scope, a Webley Junior and a Gamo PR45 to compliment the Compact I already have. Those are the immediate and realistic aims but the list goes on (and on).
This pistol bug has bitten hard!!!

Gamo Centres were way under rated, and are a very capable gun.

Suddenly jumped in price on Gunstar though.

Well worth picking one up.

I'm trying to stay focused on three, but I'm pretty sure ill get distracted by a "must have" that'll turn up.

Walther lp53
Original mod 6G
Webley senior or premier

If someone has a decent well priced one, please let me know!

Interesting choice, a sort of "one of each" when it comes to operation.

I really like my 6G and use it quite a lot at 6 yards.

My first ever Webley, should be arriving soon, so will get to have a shoot. It's .22 as well, so another first for me.

Kind regards,

Maybe it's just me , but I think all over levers benefit from being in .22. I've had hw45's, tempests, hurricanes and seniors in both, but .22 definately suits the action.

I'm quite looking forwards.

Superdomes at first, as I have lots, then the traditional Wasps.

I take it they are a 5.6mm .22

Yes, the "real" .22 is 5.6mm, but I find hobby's work well.

At the moment I am thinking about a PCP to have a go at pistol HFT - I tried a Brocock Atomic at Bisley last year and despite the odd appearance (not entirely to my taste) I did like the way it handled. However, this is an expensive business by the time you take into account a good quality sight and the charging equipment.

On the classics/collectables front I have everything that I was after so there is nothing on the wants list.

>This< is a good place to get a bottle, quite cheap.

They are just down the road from me too, which is quite handy.

Once you have the cylinder it just needs a hydro test every 5 years.

Many argue that a hand pump is cheaper, but you won't find any self respecting target shooter using a hand pump on a £1200 match pistol.

Moisture is probably the biggest potential problem.
