I must admit, the groups of feral teenagers who go around acting like they are immortal, and can do what they like, may think twice before bothering somebody who is armed.!

Not sure if there are any statistics out there that show a reduction in crime where citizens are armed.

Interesting and well informed site. I would love to see a change in the gun laws to allow more members of the public access to firearms. I do think there would need to be a change in the law elsewhere to make this work though. There would have to be a clause whereby someone defending themselves against an act of aggression cannot be prosecuted for the results of those actions. In the US they refer to it as 'justifiable homicide'. It basically gives you the right to save your own life.
