Benjamin EB22

Post by gigantohawk » Sat Jan 26, 2013 9:11 pm

I called my local RFD yeterday as he had a Benjamin E9A in stock.
A lot of people are of the opinion that it is the same pistol as the EB22. So with that in mind I dashed down to town to have a look at it.
Sadly, it had recently been sold......no problem, I can wait for the right one to come along.
My RFD Salesperson was really pushing the Crosman 2240 instead as he had that in stock. Saying it was a much better pistol than the EB22 and much cheaper.
When the rfd asked me why I wouldn't consider the 2240 I answered "It's just as it....that's the one I want".
Did I do the right by hanging out for the Benjamin ?

cheers,

Nick.

Yes! But then I would say that wouldnt I?

In my view the Crosman isnt as well built and doesnt have the same feeling of quality and robustness of the EB

BUT - the Crosman can be easily modified to perform better than the EB. There are so many custom parts available it would be difficult to list them all!

Its probably down to whether you want to go down the customising route or not I guess

The EB suits me as I dont want to change anything

I would say the Benjamin has the better build quality.

The Crosman 2240 has great potential and can be customised a lot.

Don't pay more than £80 for one though.

Kind regards,

Ok...all sounds good.
The Crosman 2240 was onsale for £69...But I think I'll hang out for the Benjamin. I know this pistol retails for £140+, but it's a vintage design and should work well with comps on here...I hope.
I like faffing with pistols and customising them, but the EB22 has captured my interest.

cheers,

Nick.

£69 is a very good price.

If you have set your heart on the Sheridan, then don't let anything sway you.

Kind regards,

The EB is brass and can be stripped and polished to make a Brass Benny which looks amazing.
I also think that the EB outshoots the standard 2240 once you get used to the hold ,the power and the noise!
