A Sad Day

Post by pmh » Mon Feb 11, 2013 11:08 am

Was woken up at just after 05:00 this morning, by a phone call from my mum to say that my dad has been taking ill.

I got there around 05:30, but it wasn't looking too good.

They continued trying on the way to hospital, and whilst there, but he didn't make it, and called it just after 06:00.

I suppose a small comfort is that there was no prolonged suffering, he simply went to bed and didn't wake up.

As such, please bear with me this week, as I am not sure when I'll be able to log in.

Kind regards,

Phil

I am sorry to hear that Phil please accept my condolences

My mother died last year as the result of an inoperable brain tumor and was in severe discomfort and distress for a number of months before she passed away. It was a relief when the end came - not least to her I believe

Our thoughts are with you

My sincere condolences

When I go I want it to be quick, I saw my dad suffer for such a long time before he departed in the early hours of new years day. It affected not just his quality of life but all those around him. I hope I am never that way.

Lets give thanks that your fathers passing was quick and without pain and suffering

Regards

Dear All,

Thank you for your kind words in, what are, difficult times.

He hasn't really been the same since my brother died, so hopefully they have now met up again.

Kind regards,

Phil

Sorry to hear of your loss Phil.
I lost my father some years ago the day after my birthday, I swear he was waiting for me to visit before he went.
Peeps will be here when you feel you can get back to it, family is way more important.

Terribly sad news, if it's any comfort, there are plenty of people all round the country who have you in their thoughts and will be right here when you feel like popping in.
