felts or pull through for barrel cleaning

Post by kj68 » Tue Apr 01, 2014 10:39 pm

Hi everyone I know there is a thread about barrel cleaning, but just in case my Gamo Compact needs cleaning what would be best to use either felts or barrel cleaning kit, also what oil do people recommend to put through the barrel.

I use Parker Hale gun oil and felt cleaners.

Once in a blue moon I'll shoot, felt, oiled felt, felt, felt.

And that's probably it.

Every now and then I'll pop the odd felt through.

Kind regards,

Just use the occasional dry felt, twor three every tin, its easier than a pull through but that is just as good. It does not need oil. If its oiled it just has to be dried out fully before shooting, so don't oil it.
I've shot competitively at all levels for forty years, I still have all the pistols I evolved through, FWB65, FAS604, WaltherCP2, LPM-1 and modern Steyrs, as instructed by the factory techs I never oiled a barrel and none are rusty to this day.
Good Shooting
