Re: Upgraded grips

Thank you.
It is always good to see what is available from the various airgun artisans, and there is no better way than pictures to show off your work to prospective clientele.

Re: Last Production of Webley Tempest

The last Production run of the barrel cocking Webley air pistols. The Tempest Finale will be the last of these air pistols manufactured with a production run of 600 in .177 and a further run of 600 in .22 priced at around £250-00 each. Quality appears to be quite poor from the photograph on their s...

Re: Anyone with a link to the S/N lookup for Walther LP53, o

According to my info, the date on your test target would be a very accurate representation of the manufacture/dispatch date. "S/N - 025734 : Jan 1958 through S/N - 033105 : Dec 1958". The barrel weight would have been a later addition. I will add the pic that you posted and the serial number to my d...

I would be more inclined to think that it is a clearance cut for the magazine knob.

Re: Walther LP53K

I have seen a few shortened LP53 pistols over the years, but they were not done particularly well, and it was clearly obvious what had been done. That is why I took great care to try to make mine look like it came from the factory with the short barrel. I didn't really notice any practical differenc...

Re: Any pistol built more like a firearm than the Haenel 28R

IMO, most of the early air pistols were built like firearms - IE - using similar contruction methods, such as forged steel or cast iron frames, and all steel small parts (with the exception of the grip panels). Then there is the Walther LP53, which was intended as a trainer for their Walther Olympia...

Thanks for the kind words, Brian.
It is always gratifying to save any of these vintage airguns from being relegated to paper weights.

This Crosman 137 was just moments away from the dumpster.

This was originally posted in 2011. A local gunsmith was doing some spring cleaning, and was about to toss this badly abused Crosman 137 into the dumpster, but instead thought that I could perhaps use some of the few undamaged parts still remaining, so he set it aside until my next visit to his sho...

A wee Webley gets some TLC......

This was originally posted in 2011. A short while ago, this Webley "B" Series Premier was donated to me. Because of it's less than attractive condition, it was thought to perhaps be a good parts donor. Well, having searched for a "B" Series Premier for many years without any luck, I decided that th...

Coin collector boxes for air pistol storage.

A short while ago I stumbled upon these boxes that were originally intended for storing coin collections. They are very well made, with a textured covering on both top and bottom, which in this instance happens to be red in color. They have three smaller trays in the lower section that can be remove...

Re: Building a Replica Webley-Whiting Air Pistol

Excellent work. Did they ever have a shoulder stock? Kind regards, Phil Thanks Phil. No - there was never a shoulder stock for the gun. Webley only made one prototype, and that is as far as it went. There have been several replicas made, but to my knowledge, none of them has ever been fitted with a...
