Thanks to all, think it must be mk2 as it has a ratchet. Does anyone know a way to date it from the serial number?

Re: A bargain?
Thanks tank ,would like to fit a silencer as was plinking in the garden and it was pretty loud! Had a look and can't see any thread in the muzzle does this mean it could be older or newer than I have been told and therefore a different variant. Cheers Ian

A bargain?
Thanks to all who gave advice about choosing a rifle. I'm now thinking the rifle may have found me! I have been working on a job this week and the guy who I have been working for told me he had a couple of air rifles after I had told him about my mk1 webley pistol. I Went on to tell him I had been l...

Mk3 webley
I don't want to make a saga out of my search for an air rifle but I popped into a shop a few miles from my home today which I have never been in before and think I may have found what I'm looking for. The gun was a mk3 webley, the shop owner said it dated from 1961, he should know as it was his own ...

Re: A decent rifle ?
Thanks everybody for the advice. I'm sure this will help inform me in my choice of what to buy. I also read zunmiiks post in this forum about his baikal and showed my son some pictures of the gun and he liked it a lot due to its tactical look, would this be a good option for a bit of garden shooting...

After being in the garden using it with my son I realise 1- I'm useless with a pistol and 2- my son needs something more modern to shoot so here's the thing and I know this is commonly asked but here we go 177 or 22?...

Re: Mk1 webley photos
Thanks Brian what would you suggest using to clean it up a bit I obviously don't want to be too aggressive but would love to get the metalwork looking a bit fresher. Also should I just leave the grips alone?
