Re: Walther LP-53 @ 500fps
I agree a great pistol, increased performance is pretty impressive. Not really that much in need of speed but smoothness has quite an interest.

Re: New one in makes it a pair of Haenel 28-Rs!
It is really genius using a concentric tube as a magazine. Totally contained, rather than hanging a tube on the side. And the precision machining to accomplish this is amazing to me. And the pistol is incredibly robust, after all these years they just keep on ticking. I go out to my backyard and I h...

Re: UTube reviews of classic springer pistols
Thanks, just picked up two more 28-Rs since video! All in less than 6 months. The one in the video is the best of the three. Got two .177 and one .22.

New one in makes it a pair of Haenel 28-Rs!
Just scored my second Haenel 28 in the last six months! My first was a .177 is just great shape. This one was a .22 and with some rust, but all the parts were there. Got it on a gun auction site where a dealer had listed it for a set price, which was at book for the condition. Got it today and I was...

Re: Highest serial number on a Haenel 28R seen?
A few photographs, not the best. Through the years I have owned a number of Haenel air pistols, though my favorites are the Haenel Super MOD 28 and the Haenel Model 50 & 51. Some of my Haenel repeaters. http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m87/Bruce-Stauff/Collectibles/Haenel%20Repeaters%201b_zpsmiiz...

Re: The Hy-score
The sights aim the gun high to make up for the action of the piston which moves the barrel downward as it moves in the gun. I actually think the gun barrel may be aimed high instead of the sights, but you get the idea. On the Targ-Aire you can easily see the barrel is aimed downward, the opposite ca...

Re: UTube reviews of classic springer pistols
You have been collecting just a few more years than me, lol! My goal is to find a short barrel with multiple barrels, I should live so long. A pinned one would be a little too much to ask for. I say I want one but they really make little sense to me the long barrel just seems more logical. The Engli...

UTube reviews of classic springer pistols
New to collecting I purchased a as new Hy-Score earlier this year and it opened me up to the world of these old school blued firearmlike pistols. Read Andrew Lawrence's paper on how he developed it. Ended up buying pistols of this era. Saw few Utubes on this era, ended up making three Utubes; the Ha...

Re: What kind of grouping can you get with a good Haenel 28?
Thanks for your update and thoughts. I've had my 28r for a couple of days now and it is in great shape. But mine probably has the original spring in it and to be honest it must be weaken with age cause mine is not that hard to cock. Pushing round balls out at 250 or less. Personally I am happy with ...

Was pellet speed even a concern for prewar pistol makers?
Started shooting my new to me Haenel 28R. Once I got round ball ammo it has been fun. I did chrony it's speed and it is about 250fps on a good day. That speed has no effect on my enjoyment and I doubt accuracy at my short backyard or indoor distances. Since our electronic devices are fairly new did ...

This shows you should cock the gun before asking dumb questions? Lol

You are absolutely correct. When you cock the gun it needs that cut out to clear the end. My bad.Leonardj wrote:I would be more inclined to think that it is a clearance cut for the magazine knob.

This is milled into backstrap, just seems like a shoulderstock attaching point to me, but never heard or seen one?

Re: What kind of grouping can you get with a good Haenel 28?
Posted above: "Beautiful hefting pistol though....maybe best ever for feel" Having just acquired a Haenel 28R this is what I immediately noticed. This pistol feels like a fine firearm which through the ingenuity of Hugo Schmeisser happens to be an air pistol. This was made at a time when there was n...
