Hi Graham,
No idea, but nice to hear from you again. We also use steel backing plates at my club and it's amazing how many lead pellets hitting the same spot can fairly quickly deform them.

Re: 1st Series Briton, .22 Warrior and a few Diana Mod 2's
Hi Matt, I replied to your PM, but I'm not sure it was sent correctly, so here is the content just in case. The pellet seater is referenced in 'The Encyclopedia of Spring Air Pistols' by John Griffiths which although now out of print is still recognised as the bible for all serious spring air pistol...

Re: !st Series Briton, .22 Warrior and a few Diana Mod 2's
One For Brian.... I recently picked up a Briton, it has quite an elaborate sprung pellet insertor: https://www.flickr.com/gp/158270726@N07/795p4V" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; https://www.flickr.com/photos/158270726@N07/shares/u4yKz1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; A...

Re: Tinplate Briton & Limit push barrels. Rare?
Hello, The rarest and consequently the most valuable British made pop-out pistols are the early machined steel examples such as the first series 'Briton' and Lincoln Jeffries 'Scout'. Most of the later tinplate pistols were based on the Diana Mod 2 including the second series Briton which is why the...

Re: Last Production of Webley Tempest
Probably very wise. I purchased the Turkish Tempests on a bit of a whim just to see how they compared with the British models. I ended up fitting some nice wooden grips to the these pistols and shoot the .177 fairly often with no problems. The 'Brummie' pistols remain in their cardboard packaging an...

Re: Last Production of Webley Tempest
Hello, I have original examples of the Tempest in both calibres together with two later Turkish pistols also in both calibres. I think I paid £160 for the later Tempests, so £250 sounds high, unless it's down to the limited and final production run. I have to say that there isn't much difference in ...

Re: Webley Target MK11 for 10 Metre?
Hello Gary, Reference sources suggest that approximately 20,000 Mk1 air pistols were made up to the end of 1926, so your Ser No would suggest early 1927 to be about right. I obtained most of my collection from Arms Fairs or from other collectors in private deals rather than from recognised firearms ...

Re: Webley Target MK11 for 10 Metre?
Hi Gary, A total of around 1,500 Mk1 air rifles were made and exact dates aren't easy to establish unlike the pre-war BSA rifles. From Chris Thrale's reference and others, I would agree that 1927-1928 would be about right for your example. There are better and more accurate references for the pre-wa...

Re: Webley Target MK11 for 10 Metre?
Hi Gary,
No problem. If you let us know the Ser No of your Mk1 rifle and the Mk1 /Mk2 Target pistol, we should be able to provide an idea of the manufacturing date.
The Mk2 Target is definitely the more desirable pistol, especially at the same price.
Regards
Brian

Re: Webley Target MK11 for 10 Metre?
Whatcha chaps, Sorry to post this in the pistol section, but it is a related topic. I have just started target shooting with a MK1 Webley Service air rifle and have a few questions i'am hoping could get answered. I would like to adjust the trigger pull, to make lighter, using the adjustment screw b...

I mainly shoot a Uberti Remington NMA or Colt Navy, but do also occasionally shoot a Colt Dragoon which is too much gun for me, nevermind a Walker !fronteria wrote:Hi. Brian
I shoot a Brown Bess 42" barreled Pedisoli musket, Colt Walker replica and a flintlock all steel scottish pistol.

Re: Webley Target MK11 for 10 Metre?
Hi Jeff, I only use .177 when trying to shoot decent groups with a springer and use H&N Pistol Match as these lighter pellets also perform well in my BSA Improved Mod D air rifles. They are quite expensive and RWS Hobby shoot quite well, but with less consistency. Regards Brian Hi. Brian I was usel...
