New Land .650 Flintlock Pistol c. 1800
New Land .650 calibre pistol. c.1800.JPG I have added a bit of a beast to the collection this week. I decided to put a 16 bore, (.650 calibre) pistol in my collection to go with the Indian Pattern Flintlock original .750 calibre Brown Bess, the flintlock ignition system has always intrigued me, I s...

Webley Straight Grip Senior.
After a couple of years looking I have just got a pretty rare Webley & Scott straight grip senior air pistol at auction at a price I was willing to pay, these were made for a pretty short period between 1930 and 1935 and around only a total of 6500 manufactured. It is complete except a couple of inc...

Webley MK1 Series 2 Straight grip
I have finished repairing and tidying up the Webley MK.1 Series 2 straight grip, and it is in full working order, this pre. December 1925 pistol was the first to have a sliding barrel catch, the grips are much slimmer than the later MK1's https://www.flickr.com/photos/fronteria/albums/72157625460446...

Beaten trying to purchase a Straight grip MK1 Pistol.
I didn’t manage to purchase that Webley MK1 air pistol I was after, I didn’t know it at the time but I was beaten to getting it by my son, who give it to me yesterday as one of my birthday presents, it certainly beats the usual socks & tee shirts by a mile. The serial number is 4243. The pistol requ...

Webley Rear Pistol Sight Horizontal adjuster missing Finish mostly all polished off. What is it worth as I have to make the guy an offer Photograph here: https://www.fl...

Re: Proof Marks on a Webley mk3
Hi, I think I read somewhere that some early British air guns carried black powder proof marks so that they could be exported to countries with rather strange import regulations. I can't recall the logic, but it seemed that anything other than a muzzle loading firearm was considered particularly da...

Re: Strange Webley Senior
Brazing of a block on to the frame by a competent Gunsmith is not uncommon, because the web between the barrel slot and the slot for the cocking linkage to run in has fractured due to very heavy use or the frame being overload by a heavy spring or excessive preload on the spring. The MK11 target pis...

Re: Last Production of Webley Tempest
The last Production run of the barrel cocking Webley air pistols. The Tempest Finale will be the last of these air pistols manufactured with a production run of 600 in .177 and a further run of 600 in .22 priced at around £250-00 each. Quality appears to be quite poor from the photograph on their s...
