Gamo Falcon

Not seen one of these for a while, and couldn't resist:-

A budget introduction to a target pistol, need to tweak the trigger a little, but it's not too bad.

Goes off with a bit of a twang, but a lot of springers do. Probably needs a strip down and some appropriate lubing.

The Gamos are becoming extremely popular in the Muscle Power League (MPL) or ganised by Rawtenstall Model Target Club, and are acheiving higher scores than many much more expensive pistols.

More information on the MPL is available via the Airgun BBS.

Kind regards,

GAMO Falcon

The GAMO Falcon is indeed a surprise package, and I used one to hit the top score for the Rossendale Model Target Club in Round 3 of the MPL this month.

The first GAMO underlever pistol was the Centre that first became available in 1973 and is currently the first choice pistol for use in the MPL.

The Centre was joined by a simplified and cheaper version that shared the same basic mechanics but used a single piece moulded plastic stock/grip, (much like the early Original Model 5 and 6 pistols)- the FALCON - the subject of this particular thread - a couple of years later.

The last member of the GAMO underlever pistol family was the TARGET that was late arriving in 1986 but brought with it an anatomical grip and an improved trigger.

Unfortunately this superb group of pistols became obsolete soon after the launch of the TARGET and are now much sought after for use in the Muscle Power League.

Thanks for the further information on the Gamo range Bob, and welcome aboard.

I look forwards to some pictures and descriptions of the many guns in your collection.

Though I didn't realise it at the time, Gamo probably had the best budget range of pistols out there.

Kind regards,

Phil
