Gamo Falcon

Post by zunmik » Sat Dec 01, 2012 12:43 pm

Just got the gamo "Falcon" looks in nice nick (needed a springer), need to do some research on the net to see what i can do with it now. Will do pics in a day or two. Also a possibility i may get hold of a Jumbo lux fairly soon, M. :D

Excellent gun.

I've had one for a while now, and have been using it in the Muscle Power League to great effect.

If you look in the Links section, there is a link to a Gamp ad showing the range of pistols they once did.

Kind regards,

Phil

Falcon

Post by zunmik » Sun Dec 02, 2012 5:37 pm

Had a go with my falcon today the previous owner told me it had just been serviced by their clubs gunsmith, and it is indeed very smooth their is though one problem for me its single stage with a very long pull although the trigger is light, i usually set my triggers with a long first stage with a short second stage i do'nt think i can adjust it so will have to see if i can adjust my style to this trigger, M. :?:

They do seem a bit stone age at first but, once you get used to the single stage trigger,  they do have a predictable let off, which is also consistent.

Mine does very well with RWS R10s.

 I am shocked just how accurate these pistols can be, I have to admit mine had been tuned & was used by one of the MPL shooters, but now i have had chance for a proper shoot with it i find its producing very tight groups unsupported & one handed so i'm well chuffed
, not yet got to shoot the jumbo properly as it was a prezzie from my son so im having to wait for "santa" , M. :)

Glad to hear you are getting on well with the Falcon.

John G tweaked most of the Gamos used for the MPL, a thoroughly decent chap indeed.

I look forward to your post on the Jumbo, complete with pics of course.  :D

Kind regards,

Gamo Falcon info

Post by zunmik » Mon Feb 25, 2013 3:15 pm

I used this for this months comp for a laugh, a bit dumb really as its set for 10 mtrs freehand, and therefore needed a lot of holdover  . Anyway reason for the thread has any one got any tune up or trigger adjustment info on these pistols i wonder, M.  :)

The usual surface polish is about all the can do.

The adjustment screw increases or & decreases the amount of contact with the sear, so can be a bit unstable if adjusted too much.

Thanks it is very smooth so "tuned", but trigger is a long pull & heavy for my taste so i'm stuck with it i think, M.

It does have a long travel, but it is predictable, and that is half the battle.

I agree, they do shoot very well but I don't find the trigger on mine too heavy - springers take a bit of "remembering" - but it soon comes back after a few cards.

What make this hobby of ours so interesting is that there is no universal pistol that suites everybody, and if the Falcon is not for you then that is the way it is.

My friend does not like Feinwerkbau Model 65 and 80 - I find this very strange as I thought that they would be just about as close as it was possible to get to the universal pistol - but it just goes to show how important it is to "try before you buy" whenever possible.
