A classic pistol.

I do believe there was more than one version, a sort of long and short.

how do you gas these up?

Kind regards,

Phil

Remove  cap @ the rear of pistol below sights & shove an 8grm co2 cartridge up its jacksie, (i've always had a way with words), M.    :D

Yes, the most obvious difference being the grips & the rearsight I did have to many pistols @ one time to shoot them all, I have thinned them out quite a bit now so will hopefully get round to shooting them all, atb, M. :)

I've just had a second look @ your "Single" yours has a small lever between the rear of the trigger & the front edge of the left hand grip what is this mine does not have it nor is their sign it ever had one, I presume their variants from different periods maybe, M. :? :)

Hi Phil,

To most of us the long barrelled version of the Single is the Master..........or to put it another way - the Single is a short barrelled Master  however my next post here will attempt to throw a little more light on this very simplified overview.

The Single and the Master use a 12g CO2 bulb - but both can use the smaller 8g CO2 bulb with a small alloy spacer that was provided with some of the variants - although the Kurz version of the Single can only take the smaller 8g CO2 bulbs,

I also understand that some of the models ( like the Sparkler) only used the 8g capsule and had no option of using the more useful ( and easier to find) 12g capsule.

Hope this helps - Bob.

I have found a nice Single - it is an early "Lange" version ( it takes the 12g CO2 bulb) and has the straight grip and the early type "top-hat" blow-off valve and has been chrono'd at an average of 428 fps with a high of 431 fps and a low of 424 fps - and as the seller said - not bad for a 50 year old pistol!

This early Single has the mainframe milled-out from a solid aluminium - the later Singles had cast frames and were probably a little lighter.

I have not yet seen a Kurz (short) version of the single - but they do exist and they can only take the smaller 8g CO2 bulbs.

Later versions of the Single came with the same slant grip as the Master, and the very last "Lange" versions of them also had the same adjustable sight rail as the Masters.............and this is why most of us refer to the Single as a short Master - because these last variants effectively were just that - but none are known to have enjoyed the adjustable sear that was fitted to the last of the Master pistols.
