Original Model 10
Today, I realised a dream.
It has taken me since 1978, but I finally got an Original Model 10. Like many good things in life, this presented itself when least expected, and I wasn't particularly looking.
It's from 1983, has the fitted case with the orange foam, the barrel weight, instruction manual, case keys, and original receipt.
I am also informed it has recently been resealed and serviced.
I am looking forward to having a go, once the weather picks up.
Photos to follow when I get the opportunity.
Kind regards,
Phil

WALTHER LP3],Etc[/b], G0JVB ex G6MUI.
Iconic to the end, and as perfect a trigger as you can get.
However, they are a heavy, cumbersome gun, which does take some training to tame, and I think this is the reason why many don't get on with them.
The modern PCPs and CO2s have also spoilt many shooters, with a high performance in a compact and light weight size.
I'll pop it over the chrono, but I don't intend to shoot it much.
Kind regards,
Phil

Mine had all the cocking gubbins at the end removed and replaced by a plastic bull barrel cocking aid which goes over the front sight.
I did not know the previous owner but he was apparently an expert.
So now simple break barrel.
And if it was a life saving pistol shot this is the one I would use.
It is that good!
Amazing trigger and sight line.
You will love yours.

You should put your windfall to good use and treat yourself.
I like the Model 6G very much, and they are a great buy.
Chambers stock Model 10 spares, so you could easily restore the barrel to it's original spec.
Kind regards,
Phil

Managed to take some pictures, today, and also put it over the Skan.
I also bought a replacement barrel sleeve, from Chambers, just to hold as a spare. This was some £35, including postage, but I think it was worth getting, as I am not sure how much longer they will be available for.
Onto the results, which were shot using RWS R10 7.0gr
Weight (gr) Velocity (fps) Energy (ftlbs)
6.98 471.69 3.45
7.02 467.28 3.40
6.99 466.20 3.37
6.99 466.74 3.38
7.01 469.48 3.43
6.99 466.74 3.38
6.98 465.11 3.35
7.01 460.29 3.30
6.99 461.89 3.31
6.99 465.65 3.37
As the figures show, it is certainly running at a healthy level, and quite consistent.
I don't think it has been shot very often, as there is still some dieseling.
Kind regards,
Phil
