The Original Model 6G

I saw this on Gunstar, and couldn't resist.

It was going cheap as it needed resealing.

A quick question on the ABBS told me that the legendary Lawrie Amatruda was the go to man.

Overall it's in good condition. It has a very small area of minor pitting, on the left hand side towards the breach. looks a little bit like a thumb or finger print that's been allowed to run away a little.

Still, not bad for a gun dated 10 78.

After much fiddling, I have improved the trigger over what it was, but there is till room for improvements.

I e-mailed the Diana sight, and they were kind enough to send me a pdf of the manual.

It certainly is strange to shoot a springer and not experience recoil or the customary twang.

This pistol has now replaced my Gamo Falcon for the 6 yard UBC competition.

Kind regards,

Phil

The 6M with it's target grips.

A very worthy pistol indeed.

I have noticed people taking the wooden grips and puting them on the 6G.

I do like a tunnel foresight, but appreciate they are banned in normal competitions.

Kind regards,

Phil

Also have an incomplete standard 6g which is in the process of being rebuilt if I can find all the parts! Had heard about how good these pistols were, but untill you pick one up and try out the Giss system you realise they are trully impresive.

Some very nice examples there.

Mine was re-sealed by the legendary Lawrie Armatruda, a true gentleman.

Kind regards,

Phil

I've seen them go for £250 mint and boxed.

A standard 6G, with good seals should be around £120.

I think the wooden grips might take it up to £150/£160.

What does everyone else think?

Kind regards,

Phil

I paid £225 posted for my 6G with target grips, and  £65 for a standard 6G, which needs a bit of work on as there are a few bits missing

Both bought off the BBS

Mine was £70 posted, but needed resealing.

They are quite rare with wooden grips, so maybe I underestimated.

6gs

got this one for £65 off the BBS

It is needing a new front sight and various screws & other bits

bit tatty but shoots well

awaiting chambers delivering the missing bits

I got my original 6 moulded one resealled for £65 as it could barley push a pellet out of the barrel due to knackered seals -  the beauty of using Gunstar when the seller states it it is in good working order

Lawrie charged £30 to reseal mine.

Was £10, just under, postage each way though.

A bargain if Lawrie lives nearby though!

Kind regards,

Phil

The last plastic grip M6 I bought was £120 - an immaculate example. Interstingly, it has changed hande between me and the presnt owner twice now - 'Plinkit' who was admin on the BPA - I suspect that at some point I will buy it back from him!

"I paid £225 posted for my 6G with target grips"
wow,encouraging valuations.
i paid £175 for mine from then target sports in bolton , back in 2000.
had it resealed by a guy in accrington, anyone know if the gun shop is still there?  at a cost of £50.
it still is in near mint condition.
introduced me to 10m pistol and then upgraded to a steyr lp5 when the bug bit.
will post a pic when i get the chance.

Always look forwards to pictures.

I used to go to Target Sports a lot, but not been for a number of years.

Don't think it's Target Sports any more though.

On the Cheshire Gun Room website it has a link to their Bolton shop, which happens to be the old TS.

Kind regards,

Phil
