My Compact did this after sitting for a while.
Towards the front of the air cylinder, usually underneath, there is a small hole.
Open the gun up enough to access it, but not enough to cock it . Put a couple of drops of Pellgun oil in, and then open and close a few times, again without cocking the gun.
You may have to repeat this a few times at first.
This should help, and it is also worth repeating every couple of hundred shots.

I have now got both my Compacts set up for 6yd comp's, one for bell target with the sights set so that the poa is poi, and the other set for the standard 6 0'clock position for paper targets, having shot this now for a few weeks I am very happy with the smooth transition I get from paper target to bell shooting without having to change grip or hold, atb, M.
