Derek Gent Grip.

I thought this may be an interesting item to add to the Pistol section as this is a very nice but very rare example of Derek Gent's craftsmanship when applied to a very rare CP1 pistol - and so it is most probably the only one ever made?

Derek Gents design flair and excellent selection of wood has produced a really unsual grip that seems to have a fair bit of the Art Nuevo influence about it resulting in some very sharp lines and edges that have produced a really cool 1920's look.

These same sharp edges however also felt "sharp" to the hand and fingers when wrapped around them, so I have modified the grip both to fit my hand and to feel more user-friendly.

I have tried to do this without damaging the essential look of this superb grip, but I have pictured it both before and after so Derek's unique styling and design flair can remain recorded for posterity here on CAPA.

These first pictures show the grip fitted to the CP1 before I modified it:-

The second set of pictures show the grip after I had worked on it and re-finished it with walnut oil:-

Feinwerkbau P40 Tricolour wanted.........still !
