My Record Jumbo

Post by Tank » Mon Sep 02, 2013 9:10 pm

So, after looking around for a Record Jumbo - I finally found one being advertised over on the BBS. A short negotiation had me off to a rather nice chap's house just south of Sheffield and I bought this One-Owner-From-New example complete with original sales sticker and box, tin of vintage pellets too.
Anyhow, the pistol had seen some use and the barrel/breech was almost down to the metal, "thin" didn't exactly describe the condition of the paint. Anyhow, I stripped the gun down to it's component parts (yes Nick, that's what I do to every gun I get :D ) and I sent off the main frame to Garry at GTPistols. I could have had Garry Duracoat every last bit but I wanted it to reflect it's age and by doing just the main frame - which is quite a lot of the gun, it encompasses the barrel/breech part right down to the bottom of the grip - it shows the gun as to what it is, a bit of a vintage Old Timer that has been enjoyed and then carefully restored and serviced. It is good for another thirty years.

I must track myself down an example, as they are amusing to shoot, and much better than expected.

Kind regards,

Thanks for posting that up Graham.

I've coated quite a few bits and pieces / components for people, and quite often never see them back on the gun..
Duracoat service available.

Not a bad price, but to far too attend, and they only post, or should do, to RFDs.

This is the type of gun which will "produce" itself at the appropriate moment. :D

Kind regards,

Never having seen one of these pistols in the flesh so to speak ( it looks superb) , could you be bothered supplying some dimensions , weight etc.
