Hi all
I made a trade for this rifle during the Chrimbo break!
I swapped my HW90 for what has to be the smoothest rifle that i've ever owned!!
The rifle has the Venom reworked piston head, it now has an O-ring rather than the leather seal, it also has had shims fitted to the breech block/jaws to prevent the reblue from getting scored!
The last owner was a gunsmith and fitted a Delrin spring guide and tophat and also a liner in the piston..
Serial number is 362408 placing manufacture date at around 1970, it has the Export stock but a standard barrel so it could have had either the barrel or the stock replaced though I was told that you could order a standard 35 with a 22" barrel and vice versa!
The reblue is stunning quality and a mile deep!!
The rifle..
I just had to strip the rifle and actually see for myself what was inside!!
The Venom reworked piston head..
A few more pics..
Cheers, John

Re: HW35 Venom from 1970..
Nice. And far better than the HW90.
The combination of Export stock and shorter, more practical 19" is ideal to me. The 22" barrel was just a bit gimmicky. Is that a Weaver scope on there? Good, period steel bodied scopes. Ive had a few but the low magnification (1.5x, 3x etc) weren't good for these old eyes.

Very nice.
The first Weihrauch I ever shot was an HW35,back in the early/mid 1980s.
Kind regards,
Phil

Hi
I recently bought an old Hakko Electro-point Mk8 scope with a very strange reticule that I may put on this rifle
The red dot and two horizontal lines are the same as the reticule but the dot actually illuminates when turned on!!
Optics are beautifully clear

Hakko scopes - IIRC they produced the range of scopes for Optima (of Bolton) and they were very good and still much sought after.
