Some days you face things that just leave you speechless, this was one of those occasions.
I received a call asking me to take a look at a "problem". This is a Chinese QB78 air rifle, or most of it, I have taken the stock off. Notice anything?
Notice anything missing? It is of course the retaining screw for the rest of the piercing cap assembly. This is the cap when unscrewed and next to it is a complete cap:
So, where is it? And this was the part I struggled with. The chap purchased this rifle last Saturday and returned it to the shop today. Apparently his father in law took the screw off, removed the cap and put the screw back into the piercing part and HAMMERED IT DOWN THE GAS TUBE. It is at the bottom here, hard against the gas valve:
Why? Just WHY! I am totally bolloxed for words. I just cannot imagine what the man was thinking.
Some things are beyond words

I’m going off to go find myself. If I’m not back by the time I return, keep me here.

Ignore the pistol. I am trying to. That's another story for another day.
