New Land .650 calibre pistol. c.1800.JPG
I have added a bit of a beast to the collection this week.
I decided to put a 16 bore, (.650 calibre) pistol in my collection to go with the Indian Pattern Flintlock original .750 calibre Brown Bess, the flintlock ignition system has always intrigued me, I shoot a replica Scottish All steel pistol regularly.
This has to be a real man stopper when it was used by the Cavalry during the Peninsular War against Napoleon’s French Army.
The weight of this pistol is over 4 Lbs.

I don't know if anyone else on here has heard one of these go off, but Blimey! It is no surprise to me that the discovery of Black Powder was such a turning point in the history of arms.
graham.
I’m going off to go find myself. If I’m not back by the time I return, keep me here.
