What Was Your First Air Pistol?

Mine was a Diana Mk2, given to me by a next door neighbour, back in 1977/78.

The front barrel support/sight was missing, but it was all mine!

I quickly made a new sight out of cardboard, which worked fine.

The first ever air pistol bought for me, was a Harrington Gat, which I got for my next birthday.

Kind regards,

Phil

I can vaguely remember showing the Police the tree where I'd hidden my Diana. About 1968. (quite near to you in Wokingham Ian). :D
Also used to cycle 20 miles to shoot Webley Air rifles on land at Finchampstead.

The Powerhouse that was the G10 pistol which fired darts, BBS and pellets - never did figure out how to get it to  repeat the BBS

Used to fire the Darts at a dartboard and the BBS at coke cans in the living room.

I think my old flat still has some BBS embeded in the plasterboard !

I have several G10 variants.

I think the idea behind the BB repeat was to point the barrel upwards as you cocked the action.

Never actually tried it though.

Kind regards,

Phil

Point it in the air, and give it a little shake too

Diana SP50 given as a gift from a friend of my parents. Countless thousands of pellets went through that gun with not a jot of maintenance.

Manuarm break barrel in .177, bought for me by my Mum from the fishing tackle shop in Otley.  I went in wanting a Gat, but that was the one and only time when the shopkeeper persuaded me to get something more expensive than the item I went in to get.  The Gat was around £7 but the Manuarm was £22!

Harrington Gat was my first airgun, followed by a Milbro G10. Hours of fun in the hallway with my dad shooting at the back of the front door. The door took a hammering from the darts we used as they were cheaper than pellets and the door ended up peppered with holes it they were so inaccurate neither mum nor my dad complained. Later on  I remenber those days with great fondness. Dads passed away, I have an SMK G10 and a Diana G10 to bring back those memories but still looking for that Milbro

My first was a Daisy model 177 bullseye target pistol (a BB gun) when I was 10 years old. I put a carboard target up in the backyard and my father and I had a target shooting session. He with his Webley Junior and me with my Daisy. At the time we lived in a city, but nobody seemed to mind the shooting of air guns. The nextdoor neighbour, a carpenter, looked over the fence and smiled, and two days latter brought over a wonderful wooden target holder that he made. I used it for years. Today, I imagine the nextdoor neighbour would phone the police. After one session of shooting, I was hooked for life and have owned many airguns and firearms.
