Just been reading Graham's articles on stock finishing and I reckon that they are probably the best around. Thanks graham.
I know that walnut is generally regarded as the best ( I've got a walnut stock that is about 200 years old ) but what other timber are good for stock-making?
Timber for rifle stocks
I do like a nice Walnut for a stock.
I have also seen beach used, which does make a pleasant stock if finished properly, but don't really know of any other wood used.
Tiger striped maple is nice, common on guitars, but I am not sure if it would be any good on a stock.
Kind regards,
Phil
